The Prisoner

This six-part 2009 remake of the 1967 series centres around a man (Jim Caviezel) who awakens as a stranger to himself in the middle of the desert. Heading off in search of who and where he is, his only clue comes from the mouth of a dead man.

Eventually discovering “The Village”, a commune of unquestioningly happy residents with only numbers for names, the man learns that he is known there as Number 6, even though he doesn’t remember anything about this place. Struck by memories of another life in New York City, Number 6 does his best to resist the manipulations of Number 2 (Ian McKellen) and follow the clues to uncover the truth behind this impossible place.
